Regional councillor wants investigation into water crisis

A veteran member of regional council is calling for an independent investigation into the causes of the region’s water-supply crisis. Regional Coun. Doug Craig, who represents Cambridge, says he has filed a notice of motion, which will be debated March 10, that calls for the appointment of an independent investigator to make public the causes of the water-supply crisis.

Waterloo Region wants secrecy pact as part of water crisis and development talks

The Region of Waterloo wants signed secrecy agreements from members of a government and private sector group working to solve the water crisis. The region insisted members of a working group, which includes nine people from the development, construction and real-estate sectors, sign nondisclosure agreements at the first meeting Feb. 18. At the group’s second meeting, which occurred Wednesday Feb.
