Ten unoccupied cars and five homes were struck by gunfire Monday afternoon in the Village of Westover community in Dover, Delaware, according to the Dover Police Department. Around 5:11 p.m., officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the area of East Broadstairs Place. When they arrived, they found approximately 40 spent shell casings on the road, according to officials.

On the same day as his funeral, the family of Kadir Skinner -- the Delaware man who was shot and killed by Wilmington police last month -- reacted to the body-worn camera footage of the shooting. According to police, officers on patrol responded to a large gathering near 24th and Jessup streets in Wilmington, Delaware, on June 14, 2026. Police said an officer saw 19-year-old Kadir Skinner exiting a nearby house with a gun pointed towards the crowd.
