1. Introduction Core structures in advanced fast reactors are exposed to a wide temperature range of 300–550 °C and high dose (>200 dpa) irradiation at a high fast neutron flux (up to 1016/s·cm2) [1]. Over the past decades, considerable efforts have focused on developing fast reactor technologies for improved thermal efficiency and higher fuel burnup, such as achieving 40% burnup (~400 dpa in structural materials).

Section snippets Processing of nanostructured ODS alloys In the ODS alloy production, we aimed to create the nanograined ferritic alloy structures with nanoparticle dispersion hardening by effectively inducing the solid-state thermomechanical processing for oxide (oxygen source) fragmentation and dissolution, elemental diffusion, and grain refinement and for enhancing nanoscale clustering of oxygen and alloy elements with high oxygen affinity such as Ti and Y.
