The Corpse Found on Languid Lane
A jar of jam rested, the lid upturned; half of a loaf of sourdough flakes before the sunlight peered through the glass pane like a voyeur. The gelatinous glucose purée of wild strawberries clung to the glass but left behind a faint trail of rose, resembling the lens of a pair of lunettes. A spoon lay on the eggshell counter; blood pools in the concave shape. A saucer lay beside with the crust of freshly cut bread atop, hanging off the edge with a half-moon impression.

Craft over catharsis or catharsis over craft. I read this article by "Games Mode On", on Vocal. Sorry to (SIOL) say it out loud - but this is kind of how I find it on Vocal and the world in general right now.

The Top 10 Data Privacy and Protection Priorities for Organizations in 2023
World Privacy Day, observed annually on January 28th, serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting personal data in today’s digital age. As technology advances and more personal information is shared online, individuals and organizations must take steps to safeguard their data. New regulations, such as DORA (Digital Operational Resiliency ACT), mandate that organizations create plans for risk management, incident reporting, and resilience testing.

Understanding vRealize Orchestrator REST API
One topic that doesn’t seem to be explored in detailed is the use of vRealize Orchestrator API and there is some confusion about which one to use (vco/api and vco-controlcenter/api) and how to authenticate, specially when using vRealize Orchestrator as part of the Cloud Extensibility Proxy for vRealize Automation Cloud or with the embedded vRealize Orchestrator in vRealize Automation 8.X, plus, anyway I hope this text could help to clarify.

Your View: Laws to deny voting rights of citizens of color are new level of political cowardice
Your View: Laws to deny voting rights of citizens of color are new level of political cowardice In America, when feeling frustrated or pressed into a corner, people often ignore the real issue at hand and engage in ad hominem attacks. An ad hominem attack is a personal attack. It simply happens, often, particularly in politics. But when one describes a great many American politicians as cowards, it is not a personal attack. It is, sadly, an accurate description of many elected officials.

Thomas Bryant's 26 lead Washington Wizards past Boston Celtics for first win in restart
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Thomas Bryant had 26 points and nine rebounds to help the Washington Wizards beat the Boston Celtics 96-90 on Thursday for their lone win in the restart. Troy Brown Jr. added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Wizards, who had long been eliminated from the playoff race and had lost their first seven games in the bubble. The Wizards avoided being the only winless team in the restart.
Thunder keep Wizards winless in bubble
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Rookie Darius Bazley scored a career-high 23 points off the bench, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat Washington 121-103 on Sunday to keep the Wizards the only winless team inside the NBA bubble. Bazley was 5 of 8 from 3-point range. Danilo Gallinari scored 20 points, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 18 as Oklahoma City led from the opening bucket and improved to 3-2 in the seeding games. “Darius got good shots and the ball went in,” Thunder coach Billy Donovan said.
Why Britain should never again join incompatible political entities
England in effect is insular, she is maritime, she is linked through her exchanges, her markets, her supply lines to the most diverse and often the most distant countries; she pursues essentially industrial and commercial activities, and only slight agricultural ones. She has in all her doings very marked and very original habits and traditions. In short, the nature, the structure, the very situation (conjuncture) that are England’s differ profoundly from those of the continentals.
Your View: Take heart, Mitch McConnell; they say it’s a dry heat
Mitch McConnell enjoys his life. He gets a great deal of enjoyment out of throwing shade at former President Barack Obama and sidling up to the current president. He is rarely, if ever, seen in photographs taken in his home state. Instead, he spends the majority of his time posturing and basking in his own distorted (and apparently positive) self-image.
Your View: Presumption of innocence? Not at local Walmart stores
If you have visited a local Walmart recently, you know that your region has been profiled by this company — and profiling is a very demeaning action. Not that a company like Walmart would ever care, but you, the customer, should. Bristol is a small town, in a small region. And as such, there is a wage gap. There are residents who are upper middle class, but many, many more who are lower middle class, or poor.
Your View: Politicians who are afraid of the truth should not call themselves Christians
During one of his six NBA finals, Michael Jordan looked with frustration at one of his teammates. He had only one thing to say: “If you’re afraid, then go sit down. If you’re not, then take the shot!” The teammate took the shot. Jordan, with his dominating presence, refused to accept a teammate who was unwilling to fight for a win. He made his fellow players rise to a certain level. Someone needs to do something similar with American Christians.
Your View: As in fable, William Barr, Donald Trump only doing what snakes do
An old story involves a snake being carried across a body of water. At some point, the snake bites the animal carrying it, and they both begin to drown. As it goes under, the animal in question asks why the snake would do something that would doom them both. The snake simply responds, “I’m a snake!” The snake was only doing what was in its nature to do, and it should have come as no surprise to anyone.

35m ago The Canadian Press Kyrie Irving and Thomas Bryant , The Canadian Press BOSTON — Kyrie Irving had 13 points and 12 assists, Al Horford scored 18 points and the Boston Celtics beat the Washington Wizards 107-96 on Friday night to snap a four-game losing streak. Marcus Morris added 17 points and nine rebounds, Marcus Smart scored 16 points, and Jaylen Brown added 13. The Celtics won for the first time since the All-Star break to avoid their first five-game skid in more than four years.
Your view: Separating immigrant children is not new
Last week, as more and more voices spoke out against the current policy of separating immigrant children from their families, I was struck by one strong statement made by a guest on an MSNBC show. She adamantly stated, “[T]hat’s not who we are.” Oh, really? From the very earliest days, it has been the policy of the United States of America to disenfranchise people based on skin color. A great many persons brought to this country as slaves did so in order to pay for their transport to these shores.

LETTER: Racism motivates quick and thoughtless changes
A brilliant writer once asked a pointed question: What’s in a name? Actually, what IS in a name? If it were called something else, we would also be talking about something else at this point. North Korea or Russia. If it were simply known as the Affordable Health Care Act, there would not be this zealous — or overzealous — approach to repeal and replace it.
Lakers Analysis: Tall Trees in a Changing NBA Landscape - Forum Blue And Gold
A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. I was 700 words into the plethora of Los Angeles Lakers tall trees heading into training camp, and the team went and signed yet another wooly mammoth—Andrew Bogut. The basketball world last saw the aging veteran when he snapped his tibia less than a minute into his first appearance with the Cavaliers.
Why Customizing vROPs Is Important for Your Container Strategy - VMware Cloud Management
Two key takeaways from last month’s DockerCon: containers have gone mainstream and system administrators are paying close attention. Long a haven for developers, this year’s DockerCon in Austin hosted more system administrators than I’d ever seen, and they all seemed to be asking one question: We get it that containers are here to stay; how do we operationalize them?
Setting the record straight on DRS, pDRS and Workload Placement - VMware Cloud Management
A consistent theme in questions from customers have been cropping up lately around VMware DRS (Distributed Resource Scheduler), p(predictive)DRS & workload placement. The questions are related to how DRS & pDRS actually work as well as some misunderstandings around the benefits they bring to customers’ environments. There are several descriptive posts on how DRS & pDRS work, why they were created and how to tune DRS for each unique environment.
Workload Management: Happiness Matters More Than Perfection - VMware Cloud Management
Happy workloads support great service to the line of business and efficient resource management—in the best scenario, a “win-win” for IT and the business stakeholder. But the pursuit of perfection comes at a cost; hence “perfect” and “optimal” workload placement may look different. In this post we’ll take a look at the hidden costs of perfection and what you can do about it using three tools for easy, optimal workload placement.
