Stevia-derived sweeteners in reduced-sugar foods: formulation strategies, sensory optimization, nutritional evidence, and safety perspectives
Abstract Background: Excessive intake of added sugars is an important contributor to obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), dental caries, cardiovascular disease, and other metabolism-related disorders in humans. Stevia-derived sweeteners, particularly high-purity steviol glycosides (SGs), have been widely used in reduced-sugar and sugar-free foods because of their high sweetness intensity, low energy contribution, and plant-derived origin.

Association between tricuspid regurgitation and heart failure outcomes: A meta‐analysis
Introduction Heart failure (HF) represents a significant public health challenge, impacting ~1%–3% of the global adult population. The risk of 1 year mortality in a specific population is 15%–30%.1 Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is prevalent among HF patients. Up to 17.2% of patients suffer from moderate or severe TR.2 Secondary TR is a common complication of HF. Its mechanism mainly includes right ventricular remodelling and dysfunction, tricuspid annular dilation and tricuspid leaflet traction.
