Study on the failure mechanism and cutting efficiency of rebar in linear cutting based on the finite-discrete element method
Abstract The design of cutter parameters plays a key role in the successful cutting of large-diameter reinforced concrete building piles by shield machines. However, the cutting mechanism of the shield machine in cutting rebar is not clear. Based on the shield pile cutting project of Wuhan Metro Line 12, the finite-discrete element method (FDEM) numerical models of rebar cutting are established.

Spin-quenching cobalt center for efficient ammonia synthesis derived from oxide mixology
Abstract The spin polarization plays a critical role in heterogeneous catalysis by influencing the properties of active sites and thereby altering catalytic performance. However, precise construction of active sites with well-tuned spin states remains challenging. Here we demonstrate to manipulate the spin polarization of ferromagnetic cobalt (Co) centers in nitride catalysts by regulating the oxide mixology of precursors.
Establishment of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury animal models using intraoperative neural monitoring: SD rat models
Abstract Objective: To reproduce the Sprague Dawley (SD) rat model of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury using intraoperative neural monitoring (IONM), this study investigates its key focuses, challenges and solutions, verifies the reproducibility of the established porcine model in rats, and evaluates the feasibility of the SD rat model as an alternative to the porcine model. Methods: Twenty-four SD rats weighing 200–250 g were selected.
Nanoassembled SERS Sensing for Complex Biological Systems: From Hotspot Engineering to Interface Regulation Click to copy article link Article link copied! Original
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Conspectus Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has evolved over the past five decades into a powerful vibrational spectroscopic technique capable of single-molecule sensitivity. Despite significant advances in the rational design and fabrication of SERS substrates with abundant hotspots, SERS still faces formidable challenges in transitioning from laboratory demonstrations to reliable analysis in complex biological environments.
Mechanism study of hollow-structured MOFs improving catalytic performance
Abstract Hollow-structured metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) often exhibit higher catalytic activity than their solid counterparts, but the mechanism behind this enhancement remains controversial due to the lack of direct experimental evidence. Using ZIF-8 as a model system, this study employs in situ fluorescence imaging to monitor the catalytic process in real time, providing direct visual evidence for the diffusion-separation mechanism in hollow MOF particles.
Risk association and diagnostic value of body roundness index for cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic-related outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: The accumulation of visceral fat is a pivotal factor in the development and progression of Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome. The early identification of high-risk individuals is crucial for delaying disease progression. The body roundness index (BRI) is a novel measures for assessing visceral fat, but its association with CKM-related outcomes lacks comprehensive evidence.
Selective vagus–recurrent laryngeal nerve anastomosis guided by intraoperative neuromonitoring: evidence of lateral motor fiber clustering in the vagus nerve
Abstract Objective: Direct anastomosis (DA) is the standard approach after recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) transection but is often not feasible due to excessive tension. This experimental study evaluated a novel intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM)-guided selective vagus-recurrent laryngeal nerve anastomosis (SVRA) technique and compared its immediate electrophysiologic performance with DA in a porcine thyroid surgery model.
Covalent organic framework photocatalysts for green and efficient photochemical transformations - Nature Communications
Abstract Artificial photosynthesis is impeded by rapid charge recombination and inefficient use of photogenerated carriers. Here we present covalent organic frameworks with systematically tailored skeletons and pores for green yet efficient photosynthesis with water and air. The hexavalent frameworks with non-conjugated photocatalytic skeletons enable water oxidation at knot corners and oxygen reduction at linker edges, while orientated triangular micropores timely supply water and air.

Shielding Pt/γ-Mo2N by inert nano-overlays enables stable H2 production - Nature
Abstract The use of reactive supports to disperse metal species is crucial for constructing highly efficient interfacial catalysts, by tuning the competitive reactant adsorption–activation pattern in supported metal catalysts into a non-competitive mechanism1,2,3. However, these reactive supports are prone to deterioration during catalysis, limiting the lifespan of the catalyst and their potential practical applications4.

Simultaneous nonreciprocal photon blockade via directional parametric amplification
We propose a scheme to achieve the simultaneous nonreciprocal photon blockade of two microring resonators in an all-optical system without any rotating parts. By unidirectionally parametrically pumping a χ(2)-nonlinear resonator with a classical coherent field, the counterclockwise mode in the resonator is exposed to the parametric amplification process when a forward signal field is input in another resonator, but not the case for a backward signal field.
High-area alumina supported Cu-Ce atomic species for water-gas shift reaction
High-area alumina supported Cu-Ce atomic species for water-gas shift reaction Atomically dispersed cerium species, anchored to high-area alumina by unsaturated penta-coordinated aluminum, strongly interact with atomically dispersed Cu species to provide active centers for water-gas shift reaction (WGSR). The alumina-anchored Ce3+ species stabilize atomically dispersed Cu+ to form Cu+-Ce3+ active complexes and they work synergistically to enhance low-temperature WGSR activity.

Effects of Exogenous Application of Glycine Betaine Treatment on ‘Huangguoggan’ Fruit during Postharvest Storage
1. Introduction The popularity of citrus among consumers is owed to its high contents of dietary fiber, carbohydrates, proteins, and minerals [1]. Tangor (Citrus reticulata × Citrus sinensis) is a significant category of citrus [2]. However, the high moisture content of tangor makes it susceptible to quality deterioration and flavor loss during postharvest storage due to physiological disorders.
