Friends of the Library event offers over 30K books for sale: See dates, times

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Friends of the Library sale has been announced with more than 30,000 books up for grabs, as well as a variety of other forms of media. The organization will hold the sale on Jan. 15, 16 and 17 at its book center, located on 1301 N. Reynolds Rd. Gently-used, well-loved hardcover and paperback books will be available to purchase for $1.

Police searching for missing siblings after fire breaks out at Defiance home

DEFIANCE, Ohio — Firefighters rushed to put out flames at a fully engulfed home in Defiance Tuesday morning. The fire began just before 4:15 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of Ruth Ann Drive. Police arrived on scene first. They attempted to enter through the garage but couldn't due to the smoke. A Battalion Chief on scene told WTOL 11 three adult siblings live at the residence together. Right now, two sisters are missing.

Gas prices go up in Ohio: See full data list

TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices in the Toledo area have risen at the pump. Average gasoline prices rose more than 22 cents in the last week, according to a GasBuddy analysis. A gallon of gasoline, on average, costs $2.68. This number is 17 cents lower than a month ago and almost 20 cents lower than a year ago. GasBuddy said in a press release that gas prices ranged between $2.15 on the low end to $2.99 on the high end, a difference of 84 cents per gallon.
