Guillermo del Toro tried to get involved with a BioShock movie, but a couple of phone calls apparently put him off the idea pretty quickly. Speaking with IGN, the Pan’s Labyrinth and Crimson Peak filmmaker recalled early discussions about adapting the game, describing the experience as “probably one of the most disastrous calls I’ve ever had.” His conclusion: “So no. Fuck no.” He then gets into the difficulty of translating a game’s storytelling into a movie.

Disney is putting some of its creepier properties front and center this Halloween, spotlighting merchandise inspired by Alien, The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror, Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands, and its own classic villains. And there’s a ton of great shit in here for the adults. There was so much fear and panic when Disney announced it was buying Fox. The sheer size of the company still makes me uncomfortable, but I do think they’ve shown that horror fans matter.

Doug Bradley (Hellraiser) is getting an action figure of his own, and Days of the Dead is adding it to VIP bags for its Chicago and Atlanta conventions! According to the convention’s announcement, the figure comes from BLAFT TOYS and will have show-specific variants available exclusively to VIP ticket holders. More photos are promised as production continues. Days of the Dead might be onto something here.
