Covering my local school board. That local accountability work was my entry point into journalism and eventually grew into what is now Restoring Democracy’s Promise.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, but only a little. I caught the very tail end of the typewriter era before computers took over.
How is social media changing news?
Social media has created a gray zone where truth, distortion, and half-truths travel together at high speed. That makes rigorous verification and evidence-based analysis more important, not less.
