ZFPM2 deficiency is associated with oxidative stress and autophagy via FoxO pathway suppression in cardiac development and heart failure
Abstract To investigate the role of zebrafish zfpm2a in cardiac development and maintenance of cardiac function, and to explore its potential mechanisms in heart failure (HF). The evolutionary conservation of ZFPM2 and the spatiotemporal expression patterns of zebrafish zfpm2a were analyzed. A zfpm2a knockout zebrafish line (zfpm2a−/−) was generated to assess developmental and cardiac phenotypes. Cardiac tissue transcriptome sequencing was performed to identify pathways regulated by zfpm2a.
Investigating the Effect of Spatial AR Linear Visual Cues on Positioning and Alignment in Teleoperated Robotic Manipulation
Abstract Teleoperation is critical for lunar maintenance, yet limited visual feedback often impairs depth perception and precise robotic control. This study quantitatively evaluates three Augmented Reality (AR) guidance schemes (fundamental Vertical-Extension and Connection primitives, alongside our newly proposed Combined Lines) against a control baseline during 6-DOF robotic arm insertion tasks within a high-fidelity VR simulation.

Integrated multi-omics reveals mycelial spatial restructuring and coordinated metabolic reprogramming underlying fungal iron detoxification in Leucocalocybe mongolica
Abstract Global soil contamination with heavy metals threatens food security and ecosystem health. This study investigates the potential of saprotrophic fungus Leucocalocybe mongolica (LY9) to immobilize and detoxify iron. Soil amendment with LY9 reduces iron bioavailability in a dose-dependent manner, with the 50% treatment decreasing soil iron by 28.3%.
Niclosamide suppresses breast cancer progression and enhances paclitaxel sensitivity by targeting the ATP6AP1-YY1-XIAP axis
Abstract ATP6AP1, a key accessory subunit of the vacuolar H+-ATPase (V-ATPase) complex responsible for organelle acidification, has emerged as a potential cancer driver. Numerous studies have shown that ATP6AP1 is significantly upregulated in breast cancer, and its high expression is associated with poor prognosis. However, the specific functions and underlying mechanisms of ATP6AP1 in breast cancer progression remain unclear.

Chronic insomnia is associated with inflammatory, carotid atherosclerotic, MRI-based brain atrophy-related, and cognitive alterations: the potential role of IL-6
Abstract Objective: This study aimed to investigate the co-occurrence patterns of inflammatory, carotid atherosclerotic, MRI-based brain atrophy-related, and cognitive alterations in patients with Chronic Insomnia Disorder (CID), with a focus on exploring the statistical association of IL-6 with insomnia severity and cognitive function.
Validity and feasibility of the simplified dietary inflammatory index in Chinese older adults
Abstract Chronic low-grade systemic inflammation contributes to chronic diseases. The dietary inflammatory index (DII) is a validated tool for quantifying diet-related inflammation; however, its assessment methods are limited. This study developed a simplified DII (S-DII) based on a 25-item food frequency questionnaire (FFQ25). To validate the S-DII, we evaluated 269 community-dwelling older adults in China. Dietary intake data were measured using the FFQ25 and 24-h dietary recall (24HR).
Fire Moderation in Southeast Asia Mitigates the Adverse Effects of Aerosols on Spring Green-Up
1 Introduction Wildfires have profoundly altered global vegetation community patterns and terrestrial ecosystem functions (He & Lamont, 2017), including continuous impacts on plant physiological growth (Bär et al., 2019). In addition to the direct combustion of local biomass, fire emissions inject large quantities of aerosol particles into the atmosphere, where they can be transported over long distances and substantially enlarge the ecological footprint of fire events (Jin et al., 2022).
Molecular mechanisms of KMT2C alterations in gastrointestinal cancers: enhancer network destabilization, lineage plasticity, and clinical translation
Abstract KMT2C (lysine methyltransferase 2C), also known as mixed-lineage leukemia 3 (MLL3), is a member of the KMT2 family of histone methyltransferases that catalyzes histone H3 lysine 4 monomethylation (H3K4me1), a hallmark of active enhancer elements.
Long-term follow-up of tislelizumab combined with anlotinib in a single patient with metastatic type B3 thymoma: a case report
Abstract Background: Thymoma is a rare epithelial malignancy. Type B3 thymoma confers poor prognosis largely owing to limited effective systemic therapies. Although immune checkpoint inhibitors and multi-target tyrosine kinase inhibitors have shown promising therapeutic efficacy in multiple solid tumors, yet their application in thymoma remains insufficiently investigated.
Systemic metabolic dysfunction is associated with local treatment failure: the role of visceral adiposity index in anti-VEGF resistance in diabetic macular edema
Abstract Background: A substantial number of patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) exhibit resistance to standard anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy, representing a major clinical challenge. The Visceral Adiposity Index (VAI), a surrogate for visceral fat dysfunction and systemic metabolic derangement, has been linked to diabetic microvascular complications, but its power to serve as a prognostic marker for local therapeutic failure in DME is unknown.

E/e' ratio combined with left ventricular mass index predicts HFpEF rehospitalization risk in stage 3–4 chronic kidney disease patients: a retrospective cohort study
Abstract Introduction: Patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and coexisting chronic kidney disease (CKD) have poor outcomes. This study assessed whether a combined echocardiographic indicator could improve risk stratification for this high-risk group. Methods: In a retrospective study of 254 adults with HFpEF and stage 3–4 CKD, we evaluated an indicator combining elevated E/e' ratio (≥15) and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).

Hydroxychloroquine-functionalized Ionizable Lipids Mitigate Inflammatory Responses in mRNA Therapeutics
Abstract Lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-based mRNA therapeutics, highlighted by the success of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, face challenges due to inflammation caused by ionizable lipids. These ionizable lipids can activate the immune system, particularly when co-delivered with nucleic acids, leading to undesirable inflammatory responses.
Enhancing Osteogenesis through Bio‐Inspired Recombinant Coral Protein Galaxin by Targeting Mitochondrial Metabolism and ATP Production
1 Introduction The remarkable biomineralization capabilities of scleractinian corals, recognized as hypercalcifiers, are pivotal for extracting significant amounts of CaCO3 from seawater to form robust skeletons.[1, 2] This process primarily occurs extracellularly at the interface between the underlying skeleton and the calicoblastic ectoderm, which is a single-cell epithelial layer.[3] Aragonitic CaCO3 consists of the supportive skeletons of scleractinian corals.[4] The elucidation of coral...
