Two distinct projection pathways converge onto the same BLA neurons to contribute to fear memory retrieval
Abstract Studying the neural circuits that mediate context-induced fear memory retrieval is of importance to develop new therapeutic approaches to prevent post-traumatic stress disorder relapse. The basolateral amygdala (BLA) is crucial for context-induced retrieval of fear memory. Previous studies indicate that projection neurons from the ventral hippocampus CA1 (vCA1) to the BLA (vCA1-BLA neurons) mediate context-induced retrieval of fear memory.
Association of pre-operative opioid use disorder and postoperative outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Introduction Opioid use disorder is defined as a problematic pattern of opioid use that results in clinically significant impairment or distress [1]. Unlike chronic opioid therapy, opioid use disorder involves not only physical dependence but also psychological and behavioural features that drive continued use despite adverse consequences [1, 2].

1 Introduction Due to its distinctive flavor and excellent nutritional value, Chinese yellow rice wine is popular among local and foreign consumers (Jiao et al. 2014). However, it contains several hazardous compounds, notably ethyl carbamate (EC) (Chen et al. 2022; Wang et al. 2021). EC is produced through a chemical reaction between ethanol and carbamoylated compounds such as urea, citrulline, carbamoyl phosphate, cyanide, and diethyl pyrocarbonate, with urea serving as the main precursor.

Trends in opioid dispensing to injured workers following codeine scheduling changes in Australia: a retrospective cohort study
Discussion The up-scheduling of low-dose codeine did not significantly change the prevalence, monthly number or monthly percentage of low-dose codeine-containing products dispensed to injured Australian workers with workers’ compensation claims for musculoskeletal conditions. Less than 3% of workers were ever dispensed up-scheduled low-dose codeine compared with the nearly third ever dispensed other types of opioids.
What influences Australian pharmacists' decisions to supply opioids? Results from a survey and randomised controlled factorial experiment
1 INTRODUCTION Increases in opioid prescribing in recent decades, coupled with long-term and or non-medical use can result in substantial harm including mortality and morbidity [1]. In the United States, the opioid epidemic was initially driven by prescription opioids, however, more recently, illicit opioids are the main contributing factor to high mortality rates [2].
Australian Community Pharmacists' Preparedness to Offer and Discuss Hepatitis C Testing and Treatment With Pharmacy Clients: A Representative Cross‐Sectional Survey
1 Introduction In 2019, the World Health Organisation (WHO) estimated 58 million people were living with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) worldwide, with approximately 1.5 million new infections occurring each year [1]. In Australia in 2022, an estimated 74,400 people were living with HCV [2] and over 300 deaths are attributed to HCV annually [3]. HCV is a global public health concern, resulting in substantial burden on healthcare systems and the economy [4, 5].

Impact of codeine rescheduling on prescribing of codeine and other opioids: Interrupted time series analyses using Australian general practice data
What is already known about this subject Opioid-related harm in Australia has been growing, and codeine comprises a large proportion of pharmaceutical opioids use. Codeine has been associated with a wide range of harms, including codeine dependence. In February 2018 all codeine products became prescription medicines in Australia, with low-dose products no longer available over the counter, but few studies have examined the impact of this change on overall codeine prescribing.

Stocking and supplying naloxone: Findings from a representative sample of community pharmacies in Victoria, Australia
1 INTRODUCTION Opioid-related harm is a significant public health concern in Australia and is often a result of increased opioid prescribing in recent decades [1]. In 2017, 3.1 million Australians were prescribed at least one opioid, of whom 715,000 used these opioids for non-medical purposes [2]. In this same year, opioids resulted in 1123 deaths throughout Australia, of which 58% were attributed to prescription opioids [3].
Identifying opioid tapering pathways to safely stop use
With more and more Australians receiving prescription opioids to treat chronic pain in the past decade, harms as a result of opioid use have also been rising. Every day in Australia, almost 150 people are admitted to hospitals as a result of opioid harm, and three people die from drug-induced-death involving opioids.

Association of state‐level prescription drug monitoring program implementation with opioid prescribing transitions in primary care in Australia
1 What is already known about this subject Inconsistent effects of prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) on prescribing have been found across different studies. There is little understanding of how PDMP use impacts prescribing for individual patients, including the prescribing of nonmonitored medications. PDMP use may lead to a rise in prescribing of alternative medications that are not monitored, known as a substitution effect.

Simplified retinal 3D projection rendering method and system
Abstract A simplified rendering method and system for retinal 3D projection using view and depth information is proposed and demonstrated. Instead of vertex calculations, image-based techniques, including sub-image shifting, image fusion, and hole filling, combined with the depth information, are used to render the multi-view images in a display space with specific discrete depth coordinates. A set of time–division multiplexing retinal 3D projection systems with dense viewpoints is built.
