Mayor Tim Keller of Albuquerque has proposed eliminating nearly 250 city positions in an effort to save $35 million. The positions include 25 bus drivers, 12 police dispatchers and 39 teaching positions at community centers, which Keller's administration has labeled as redundant. However, Keller's administration says the quality of services will not be affected. "I wouldn't say that they weren't not necessarily needed. I think because we're having to make tough decisions and make cuts," Keller said.
