How Canada's draft chatbot law stacks up on global scene

PARIS: Canada's proposed law requiring chatbot providers to protect users from "harmful" content is the latest step by global governments to regulate the sector. The draft legislation introduced on Wednesday targets issues like chatbots encouraging suicide or self-harm, as well as AIs deceptively claiming to be human or expert in complex fields such as medicine and law. Chatbots will also be subject to rules from a new Digital Safety Commission.
