MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - A Heartland career coach is set to host monthly gatherings focused helping people find career happiness. Joe Szynkowski, the owner and chief creator with the UpWrite Group, has started the Work Happy Happy Hour. This month’s event is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Celebrations Event Center in Marion. In a news release, Szynkowski said he’ll facilitate a 20-minute interview with experts and everyday workers.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KFVS) - The Illinois House passed two bills early Friday morning, January 6 during the lame duck session. Near 1 a.m., the House passed legislation banning military-style assault weapons with a 64 to 43 vote. Democrats have been working to gain public support in passing Senate Bill 2226, originally House Bill 5855, which was introduced in early December.
