EuroLeague has early partnership talks with Project B

EuroLeague has held exploratory talks with startup Project B about a potential collaboration, both sides confirmed this week, although the details remain preliminary and vague. In an interview with EuroHoops published Friday, EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno said he once considered investing in Project B — the touring unisex international league slated to launch in January of 2027 —and that the women’s portion of the venture holds particular intrigue.

EuroLeague, NBA and FIBA to hold advanced discussions on Wednesday

EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno said Friday he will meet with the NBA and FIBA on Wednesday to see if they can avoid the “fragmentation and friction” of dueling leagues on one continent and perhaps carve out a partnership or quasi-merger. “We just need to find out what makes sense for everyone, you know?” Bueno told EuropHoops in a wide-ranging interview.

Real Madrid opts into EuroLeague for next year with eye still on NBA Europe

Facing a June 30 deadline, Real Madrid has re-signed with EuroLeague for the 2026-27 season with what is reportedly a single-year commitment that allows the club to join NBA Europe in the fall of 2027. EuroLeague -- which remains in talks with the NBA about a potential partnership or merger -- had previously asked its 13 teams to renew for a decade. Barça, Baskonia, Efes, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Maccabi, Milan, Zalgiris, Bayern, Villeurbanne initially opted in.
