North Knox girls basketball coach Steve Meurer has quite a lifetime record, having collected 419 victories in 29 seasons. The mark is 53-4 over the past two years, with the Warriors being top ranked in Class 2A for a big chunk of that time frame. The record is glossy, but it’s still not even the best one in the household. North Knox volleyball coach Tammy Meurer, Steve’s wife, has produced 609 wins in 25 seasons. At least Steve can now make up ground.

The Vincennes University men’s basketball team was down to its last recruit. Often times that signee may not be a great fit with all of the players already accumulated.

Zach Breault and the Cypress Hills layout have been a pair that often haven't seen eye to eye in the past. But the connection grew some this weekend at the Vincennes Open. The Lawrenceville, Ill., golfer blitzed the field with a final round, 3-under-par 67 Sunday and strolled to a seven-shot victory at 4-under 136. Moving back to the blue tees for the final round handcuffed the Championship Flight players Sunday, with none of the other nine players able to shoot better than 74.
