Between 1996 and 2004, I sat on the editorial board of The International Journal of Art and Design Education and acted as literary editor for 5 years. I have contributed peer reviewed papers to a number of academic journals and edited Art Education in a Postmodern World (Intellect Books).
I also wrote regular reviews for the Times Educational Supplement and contributed to television programmes on education and culture such as the BBC’s Education Today, Amazing Spaces and Rankin Shoots Rembrandt.
I have worked as education consultant to the Prince's Teaching Institute and, as subject consultant for the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency, I wrote briefing documents for the Department for Education. I served as Green Councillor on the Redbourn Parish Council from 2011 to 2014 and was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts 2004.
For 7 years I worked within Extinction Rebellion’s Media and Messaging team, writing features and meeting with broadcast and print journalists to advise on framing climate messaging.
I am also co-founder of MP Watch and Music Declares Emergency and am now on the steering group of Media Revolution
