Why businesses must address their video management headache
Over the last decade, the internet has changed the way businesses market themselves. This has resulted in video becoming an integral part of most businesses’ marketing strategy, with research finding that 87% of marketers now use video as a tool. Even SMEs that in the past weren’t creating content online due to budget constraints, now have a relatively cheap way to utilise video and 83% of marketers believe that it gives good ROI.
Most households sticking to just one smart speaker device, mainly Amazon
A new study shows an incredible degree of loyalty among smart speaker owners, with 97 per cent of households with smart speakers owning devices from a single brand. In addition, most people are sticking with the platform they initially made their investment in.
5 ways that high street retailers can take on the ecommerce giants
In the run up to Christmas, analysts expect the percentage of online retail sales to continue to grow, from £13.7 billion in 2017 to £15.8 billion in 2018. Much of this revenue has gone to ecommerce giants, such as Amazon. Why haven’t high street retailers been able to adapt and stake a claim to increased sales? Partly it is down to a ‘them and us’ mentality between online and offline – which means the two sides of the business are not always supporting each other.
Making the most of Black Friday
What was originally the biggest, most profitable shopping day of the year for US retailers, has become a worldwide phenomenon. Black Friday, a mainstay in US culture for decades that marked the start of the holiday season, didn’t arrive in the UK until 2010 when e-commerce giant Amazon promoted a range of discounts to consumers. Britain has been hooked ever since.
Merging online and offline: the 3-dimensional customer view
In the past, the aim of direct marketing was to sell directly to the public using sales pitches which were based completely on the possible behaviour of groups of customers who had things in common. These usually consisted of location, typical purchases, family structure, household geodemographics and in-store and mail order transactions; then only once grouped together would campaigns be targeted across a couple of channels such as direct mail and telephone for example.
How to Make Video Content That Is More Engaging
If there’s one goal that you should have when you create video content, it is to make it as engaging as possible. Engaging videos will be far more effective at fulfilling any goal, and will get more exposure while at the same time drive viewers to take action. But how do you actually make video content that is ‘engaging’ in the first place?
Advertiser vs. consumer: the challenges of effective video advertising
Boasting 46% year-on-year growth, online video plays an increasingly crucial role in brands’ media mix. And this growth only seems set to continue, with companies such as Amazon starting to implement video options for ad slots that were previously limited to banners. But however prominent video may be, advertisers seeking to leverage its potential still face the challenge of keeping audiences engaged.
Ramp up your Amazon Ad Game
It’s clear that Amazon is on a monumental roll. The company’s growth is staggering, showing a 39% year over year increase in net sales, a 12x jump in earnings per share (EPS), and over 100 million Prime subscribers globally in Q2 2018. There simply isn’t another eCommerce company with the same market presence and influence over the customer journey. The reality is that many people start their purchase journey on Amazon, and brands can’t afford to ignore Amazon’s melting pot of customer demand.
Why CTV advertising should be a priority for brand marketers
Where most screens fit snugly in the palms of our hands, the phrase ‘size matters’ could seem somewhat irrelevant when talking about advertising in today’s digital spaces. But Connected TVs (CTVs) – an umbrella definition for smart TVs, boxes, sticks and devices which can stream content via broadband – offer brands a new realm of high impact, big-screen media space. In 2014, one in ten UK households owned a CTV.
5 Reasons To Start Taking CTV Seriously
By this time next year, the 25 million households across the country that own connected TVs (CTV) will think nothing of shampoo ads gracing their screens as they settle down in front of "American Horror Story" Season Nine. The idea of CTV advertising may have recently caused ripples in the media world and beyond, but rumours that Amazon is on the cusp of serving ads and Netflix is close behind are rapidly gaining momentum.
