Tom Drake’s Biography

My name is Tom Drake. I live in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, just outside Calgary.

I’m a financial analyst for a major Canadian retailer by day and an online entrepreneur by night. As the founder of MapleMoney, I’m a personal finance expert and the President of Drake Media Inc. My goal is to share what I’ve learned to help Canadians better manage their money. I'm also the Editor-in-Chief at Get Rich Slowly, one of the longest-running and most influential personal finance blogs on the web.

I speak at conferences, and I regularly contribute to financial publications in Canada and the United States. I’m the host of The MapleMoney Show, a podcast that focuses on personal finance for Canadians. You’ll likely find me meeting up with other money nerds, when I’m not enjoying a little downtime.
