SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man and a woman charged in connection to the alleged rape of their two year-old daughter are due back in court Tuesday afternoon. A dangerousness hearing is scheduled for William Muniz, III, 25, and Editza Miro-Navarro, 28 in Hampden Superior Court. According to investigators, detectives in the Springfield Police Special Victims Unit began investigating Muniz on Feb. 5 after receiving allegations of child abuse.

Montague voters approve override for new $23.7M library Original

MONTAGUE, Mass. (WWLP) – Voters in the town of Montague approved a ballot question clearing the way to borrow the money needed to construct a new $23.7 million main library in Turners Falls. Wednesday, voters approved a Proposition 2 1/2 override that would allow the town to raise property taxes to pay for bonds to construct the library, planned at 38 Avenue A. The new library would replace the existing Carnegie Library down the street. The override passed with 1,593 “yes” votes to 1,248 “no” votes.
