The Tournament of the Americas, which served as the qualifying round for the Olympics, was played at Memorial Coliseum in Portland. The team included Michael Jordan and Clyde Drexler playing together for Team USA. In their first game, the Dream Team beat Cuba 136 to 57. Five more blowouts followed.
