It is deeply unfortunate that while the lives of innocent schoolchildren hung in the balance and after one of the teachers was brutally beheaded by the kidnappers; some politicians chose to turn a national tragedy into a political chess match.

A government source has explained that the delay in granting an Oyo State Government delegation access to the rescued victims of the Oriire Local Government abduction at the 2 Division Medical Centre, Military Hospital, Ibadan, was due to routine military security and profiling procedures.
