A driver was hospitalized Thursday after a car was hit by a Metra train in Chicago's Brainerd neighborhood. Metra said the accident happened around 10:15 a.m. at 90th Street and Hermitage Avenue, along the Beverly branch of the Rock Island Line. Metra said the driver went around the gates and ignored the flashing lights at the train crossing. The driver went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with non-life-threatening injuries.

Photo shows pipe that broke and caused flood in Skokie, Illinois Images released Tuesday show the pipe at the center of the devastating leak in north suburban Skokie last month. On Friday, Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, video showed millions of gallons of water flooding out streets and creating icy yards. The flood also totaled cars and required emergency calls to the plumber. CBS News Chicago has now obtained more than 100 internal documents and photos outlining what happened that day.

Chicago Mayor's office to list all gifts publicly online after Inspector General report

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Changes are coming to the way gifts to the mayor are cataloged and stored inside Chicago's City Hall. This comes after a report by the Chicago Office of Inspector General showed hundreds of gifts given to the Mayor's office came in without noting who gave the gifts.
