(WNEM) — Financial institutions and police in the Saginaw area are reporting an increase in fraudulent calls and text messages targeting account holders, with scammers using caller ID spoofing technology to impersonate banks and credit unions. United Financial Credit Union CEO Barb Appold said the scams have picked up over the last couple of weeks. “We have been seeing an increase in fraudulent calls and text messages,” Appold said.
