Consistent Microbial Responses to a High-Fat, High-Sugar Diet in Inbred Mice 16S rRNA gene sequencing was used to profile the fecal microbiota of 73 mice representing 5 distinct inbred founder strains used in the Collaborative Cross: 129S1/SvImJ, A/J, C57BL/6J, NOD/LtJ, and NZO/HlLtJ (n = 7–20 mice/genotype; 3–9 cages/genotype).
