Seinfeld’s secret to success? Master a skill
During a recent interview with the New Yorker to mark his directorial debut with the film “Unfrosted,” Jerry Seinfeld was asked why, given his great financial success, he still works so much. His answer was glorious: “Because the only thing in life that’s really worth having is good skill,” he said. “Good skill is the greatest possession. The things that money buys are fine. They’re good. I like them.

Enjoying what you work at results in your wanting to get more experience.” Generosity: Noting that the word “generous” comes from the same root as “genius,” Leonard says.

From Beatlemania to Taylor-Mania
opinion Opinion Share on twitter Share on facebook Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour is doing ludicrous numbers. What began in March 2023 as a 52-show US tour has expanded into a 131-show international juggernaut which is scheduled to end in August 2024. Each performance lasts 3.5 hours with Swift playing 44 songs from her catalogye (FYI: my fave Swift tracks are “You Belong With Me” and “Wildest Dreams”). Quick napkin math shows that “Eras” will likely be the first tour ever to gross over US$1 billion.

How to Save Your Job from ChatGPT
"Can it do my job?" That question is likely top of mind for anyone who has seen or played around with ChatGPT, the AI-powered chat tool from OpenAI, the $20 billion AI research organization. Since the tool's release on Nov. 30, a surefire way to go viral on Twitter has been to post a transcript showing ChatGPT - built on top of OpenAI's large language models (LLM) - doing very passable white-collar knowledge work. Commentary: YouTube star MrBeast is writing a new consumer playbook Original
That’s the exact playbook that Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast) is perfecting. Only 24 years old, MrBeast has built an enormous audience by creating viral content like re-creating Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, amassing more than 200 million subscribers across multiple YouTube channels (as of last week, his original channel – with 112 million subs – made him the most followed person on YouTube). And now he’s selling products to that audience.

TikTok could spoil the broth for the Michelin Guide
A younger screen-addicted generation could turn the institution into one-time arbiters with little relevance 02 November 2022 - 05:08 Over the summer, I travelled to Spain with my wife and son. Between overflowing plates of Iberico ham and a few too many Aperol Spritzes, we made a point to visit the country’s food mecca of San Sebastian. Our sole purpose: to eat at Mugaritz, a two-star Michelin restaurant.

Thanks for subscribing to SatPost. Today, we’re talking about Gautam Adani, the Indian entrepreneur who recently became the 2nd richest person in the world with a net worth of $140B+. You may have seen the headline. A week ago, Jeff Bezos was unseated as the world’s 2nd richest person. In his place is Gautam Adani. The Indian entrepreneur has seen his net worth jump from $77B at the beginning of the year to $142B. Of the top 10 richest people, he’s the only one that’s up in 2022.
Linkedin’s future is a joke
I recently saw one of the most absurd LinkedIn posts — and odds are good that you may have, too. Alex Cohen, a product manager for Carbon Health, relayed the story of how he saved money for his startup while on a business trip. Instead of ordering room service, Cohen says, he bought some raw chicken breast and cooked it using the hotel room’s coffee brewing pot. He posted this image, saying, “It’s the little things that get you promoted.” It was all a joke, as Cohen later admitted.
