After being closed for seven years amid maintenance issues, the historic Uhro Saari Swim Stadium reopened with a grand opening celebration Saturday, June 6. The Plunge originally opened in 1941, and at 85 years old, the city’s public pool was in need of a makeover to keep it safe and usable, while preserving the stadium’s history.

Wave Rider electric shuttle launches in Manhattan Beach

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Ride the wave in Manhattan Beach. The city has launched a new on-demand electric ride service, officials announced this week. The Wave Rider, an all-electric, app-based shuttle for local trips, began on Thursday, June 4. The non-traditional shuttle has no fixed routes, stops or schedules, and instead is an app-based, Uber-like rideshare for local destinations.

The event, according to city leaders, reaffirmed Redondo’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community.
