HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Despite the Highlands Ranch fireworks show getting canceled amid drought and fire danger back in May, the town may have fireworks on the Fourth after all — at least if the Douglas County Republican Party has anything to say about it. On Sunday, Denver7's Douglas County Reporter Tyler Melito shared community reaction to the cancellation, despite other Douglas County communities planning fireworks, and the fire ban in DougCo being lifted June 2.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — With the Fourth of July less than two weeks away, Highlands Ranch residents are reacting with mixed emotions after learning the community's fireworks celebration will remain cancelled, even after Douglas County lifted fire restrictions. On May 14, the Highlands Ranch Community Association and Douglas County cancelled the fireworks show for Independence Day, citing drought and fire dangers.

Campers at some Colorado campgrounds without water until further notice due to drought

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado's drought is continuing to have an impact on the state, the latest example is certain campgrounds being without water. Since May 15, campers at five campgrounds in the Dillon Ranger District — Prospector, Windy Point Group, Lowry, Marvine and East Marvine — have not had water available to them.
