MTA capital plan includes many transit upgrades, but few for the South Bronx

The MTA released its 2025-2029 capital plan in September, which contains ambitious projects like building the newly proposed Interborough Express, replacing old rail cars, and making the Metro-North more environmentally resilient. But most plans impacting the South Bronx were a bit less glamorous, relating to critical infrastructure along bridges, elevated train lines and underground power stations.
