I am an independent journalist currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sociology at Jamia Millia Islamia, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Delhi School of Journalism. My work is rooted in Delhi, where I report on gender and labour issues, with a focus on communities in resistance. I am committed to bringing ground realities to the forefront and aspire to write extensively on politics, especially through the lens of structural inequality.

In the early morning of December 10, bulldozers and labourers moved into a settlement along Mohan Road, on the southern fringe of Lucknow. Men in uniforms stood at the edges of plots where families had lived and built for years. By mid-morning, boundary walls were broken, gates pulled down, and trees cut. In some places, entire homes were levelled. Across this stretch of land, residents were left with piles of bricks and open yards.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a journalist is to refuse silence. It is to expose what power wants hidden, to document injustice not as an observer but as someone who stands with the oppressed. For me, Journalism is a political act.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I have written poems and stories for my high school and college magazines. While creative writing is not my primary focus, these experience have significantly shaped my writing style and journalistic voice.
