Estimating ZIKV seroprevalence in a DENV endemic population: the use of blood donors and multiplex serology to monitor arbovirus outbreaks in the Dutch Caribbean
The geographic range of flaviviruses is expanding, as evidenced by the increase in dengue virus (DENV) cases and the recent emergence of Zika virus (ZIKV) in the Americas. Studying seroprevalence of flaviviruses in (hyper)endemic regions is challenging due to extensive antibody cross-reactivity. Over the past decade, Aruba and Curaçao have experienced DENV and ZIKV outbreaks, of which the magnitude and impact remain unclear due to the challenges of disentangling DENV from ZIKV (past) infection.

High rank elliptic curves with prescribed torsion
High rank elliptic curves with prescribed torsion Maintained by Andrej Dujella, University of Zagreb Let T be an admissible torsion group for an elliptic curve over the rationals. Define B(T) = sup {rank(E(Q)) : torsion group of elliptic curve E over Q is T}. In the following table we give the best known lower bounds for B(T).
UCP1 expression in human brown adipose tissue is inversely associated with cardiometabolic risk factors
Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is a therapeutic target for obesity. 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (18F-FDG-PET) is commonly used to quantify human BAT mass and activity. Detectable 18F-FDG uptake by BAT is associated with reduced prevalence of cardiometabolic disease. However, 18F-FDG uptake may not always be a reliable marker of BAT thermogenesis, for example insulin resistance may reduce glucose uptake. Uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) is the key thermogenic protein in BAT.
ESG risk and returns implied by demand-based asset pricing models - Journal of Asset Management
Abstract We investigate how changes in demand for Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) characteristics affect stock prices. We consider three scenarios: increased demand for ESG characteristics by investors, shifts in assets under management from institutions with low demand for ESG characteristics to those with high demand, and changes in the ESG characteristics of the stocks themselves.
Prevalence of human respiratory pathogens and associated mucosal cytokine levels in young children and adults: a cross-sectional observational study in the Netherlands during the winter of 2012/2013
Respiratory pathogens can cause severe disease and even death, especially in the very young and very old. Studies investigating their prevalence often focus on individuals presenting to healthcare providers with symptoms. However, the design of prevention strategies, e.g. which target groups to vaccinate, will benefit from knowledge on the prevalence of, risk factors for and host response to these pathogens in the general population.
Dominant negative OTULIN-related autoinflammatory syndrome
OTU deubiquitinase with linear linkage specificity (OTULIN) regulates inflammation and cell death by deubiquitinating linear ubiquitin chains generated by the linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex (LUBAC). Biallelic loss-of-function mutations causes OTULIN-related autoinflammatory syndrome (ORAS), while OTULIN haploinsuffiency has not been associated with spontaneous inflammation. However, herein, we identify two patients with the heterozygous mutation p.Cys129Ser in OTULIN.
