We see this in local and national elections, where the public doesn’t always “get it right.” We see this at Gulf Coast Media in voting for Best for Baldwin, our friendly, community-building contest in which, occasionally, one of some of the 400 winners is not universally agreed upon.

'Survivor 50,' Ep. 12: Gulf Shores' Jonathan Young advances to top 5, season finale

Posted Tuesday, May 19, 2026 9:46 am ORANGE BEACH — The Alabama Gulf Coast's local castaway is headed to the "Survivor 50" finale. Jonathan Young, who placed fourth in his original season of "Survivor 42," has outlasted 19 of the 24 returning contestants and is in the top five of "Survivor's" historic 50th season. The finale will air on CBS on Wednesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. CST. Young is flying to Los Angeles to attend the live finale and reunion show.
