My first job as a journalist was the beginning of a journey that taught me the fundamentals of reporting, news gathering, and storytelling. It gave me the opportunity to understand the importance of accuracy, deadlines, and connecting with audiences through meaningful stories. Those early experiences built the foundation for my career and continue to influence the way I approach journalism today.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, but only briefly many years ago. My journalism career has been shaped by digital tools and modern newsrooms, but I appreciate the role typewriters played in the history of journalism.
How is social media changing news?
Social media has transformed the way news is discovered, shared, and consumed. It has made information faster and more accessible while giving journalists new ways to engage with audiences and identify emerging stories. At the same time, it has increased the responsibility of journalists to verify information, counter misinformation, and maintain accuracy in a fast-moving digital environment. The role of journalism remains the same, providing credible information and meaningful context, but the way stories reach people has evolved significantly.
