LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms are popping up across the region this afternoon, but the good news is they’ll clear out by sunset tonight. The rain has been moving through since early afternoon and will continue into the early evening hours. However, once we hit around 9 or 10 p.m., expect the bulk of the moisture to move out. Overnight should be dry, though you may notice some patchy fog developing.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Warm and humid conditions will continue through the week, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected to pop up this afternoon and evening before clearing out overnight. Temperatures will reach the low 90s today with heat index values at or above 100°. A good scattering of showers and thunderstorms is likely between now and sunset, with a few lingering showers possible around 10 p.m. Once the sun sets, rain and storm activity should wind down.
