BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana leaders are reacting to the passing of longtime Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. According to Sen. Graham’s office, he died from a “brief and sudden illness” on the evening of Saturday, July 11. He was 71. Sen. Bill Cassidy talked about the impact his colleague in the Senate had. “Just like many, I am shocked to learn of Senator Graham’s passing,” Cassidy said.

NEWTON COUNTY, Texas. (KPLC) - A DeRidder man reported missing was found dead in the Sabine River Sunday morning, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office said Jordan Jamal Allen was located around 7:50 a.m. on July 12 with help from Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, and 409 Search and Rescue.

SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - A high-speed chase that started in Sulphur Saturday night ended with a crash in Southeast Texas that killed two people, according to police. Sulphur Police said an officer tried to stop a 2014 Mercedes around 9:15 p.m. on North Huntington Street near Pearl Street after the car was seen speeding. Police said the driver did not stop and sped away, leading officers onto I-10 and I-210.

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (Gray News) - A man was killed after getting trapped in a conveyor belt at work on Friday. The Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue said crews responded to a report of an industrial accident in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Officials said the man got trapped under the hopper arm of a conveyor belt while trying to address an issue with a large production machine. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his identity has not been released, according to NBC Miami.
