A fond farewell to my readers: Shortly after arriving in New Orleans in 1989 to draw cartoons for The Times-Picayune, I realized I had landed in what I called in my first book, “A Cartoonist’s Paradise.” The crazy politics of the Louisiana Legislature in Baton Rouge, coupled with the endless hilarity of New Orleans and the nonstop foolishness in Washington, made for the perfect trifecta of infinite cartoon fodder.
