FREESTONE COUNTY, Texas -- Officials in Navarro County say a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in east-central Texas. According to the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management, the incident happened around 4 p.m. in neighboring Freestone County, south of Fairfield on Interstate 45. The suspect was identified as Darbrett Black, a black male 5'-11" and 175 lbs. He left the scene of the shooting in a gray Chevrolet Malibu with license JDN-4273.
COOKE COUNTY, Texas -- A high-speed police pursuit that started in Ardmore ended on the other side of the Red River near Gainesville late Tuesday afternoon. Cooke County Sheriff Terry Gilbert said it all started when Ardmore police began chasing a car with more than $2,000 in suspected stolen goods. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol joined the pursuit down Interstate 35 until the vehicle -- with a driver and two passengers -- crossed the state line.

Use parentheses to separate multiple
boolean phrases. For example, to find journalists talking about having fun in Disney World or

An asterisk can be used to search for any variation of a root word truncated by the asterisk. For example, searching for admin* will return results for administrator, administration, administer, administered, etc.
A near operator is an AND operator where you can control the distance between the words. You can vary the distance the near operation uses by adding a forward slash and number (between 0-99) such as strawberries NEAR/10 "whipped cream", which means the strawberries must exist within 10 words of "whipped cream".
