Robust bulk silicon carbide polymorphs sintered from collapsed hollow mesoporous structure
Abstract Bulk silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics are important for extreme-environment applications, but conventional synthesis demands densification temperature above 2100 °C or additives. This work introduces a straightforward strategy utilizing hollow mesoporous powder, achieving nearly full densification (99.2 ± 0.49% relative density) at 1750 °C through spark plasma sintering.
Cold sintering of hybrid copper-iodides in transparent ceramics using dolomitization-inspired densification
Abstract The non-toxic hybrid luminescent copper(I) iodides are competitive solution for environmentally sustainable applications in solar cells, lighting, and detectors. However, their susceptibility to elevated temperature and oxidation creates great hurdles for technological integration due to the lack of suitable encapsulation.
Ligand-assisted interfacial monomicelle assembly to incorporate intermetallic nanoparticles into mesoporous carbon nanostructures
Abstract Intermetallic nanoparticles (iNPs) exhibit ordered superlattice structures characterized by unique properties, for example, long-range ordering, robust metallic bonding and site-isolation effects. Multicomponent (>2) iNPs are particularly interesting for the development of advanced metallic catalysts for electrochemical applications.
Mechanistic insight into the Young′s modulus threshold for fracto-mechanoluminescence in manganese halides - Nature Communications
Abstract Fracto-mechanoluminescence (FML), a subtype of mechanoluminescence, is the phenomenon of light emission triggered by the fracturing of solids under mechanical stimuli. Although many materials have been reported with FML, the underlying mechanism remains unclear, leveraging the fundamental prerequisites and design principles to achieve FML remain elusive.
Atomic Ga triggers spatiotemporal coordination of oxygen radicals for efficient water oxidation on crystalline RuO2 - Nature Communications
Abstract Advancements in proton-exchange membrane water electrolyzer depend on developing oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalysts that synergize high activity with stability. Here, we introduce an approach aimed at elevating oxygen evolution reaction performance by enhancing the spatiotemporal coordination of oxygen radicals to promote efficient O-O coupling. A dense, single-atom configuration of oxygen radical donors within interconnected RuO2 nanocrystal framework is demonstrated.

Reactive Spark Plasma Sintering of YAG-YAG:Ce Composite Phosphor Ceramics for Laser-Driven Lighting with high luminous efficacy
Reactive Spark Plasma Sintering of YAG-YAG:Ce Composite Phosphor Ceramics for Laser-Driven Lighting with high luminous efficacy Composite phosphor ceramics (CPCs) have found extensive applications in high-power, high-brightness LD lighting, primarily attributed to their superior thermal conductivity, stability and microstructural tailorability.
The Diagnostic Value of Conventional MRI Combined With Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging in Microprolactinomas
Background Turbo spin-echo (TSE) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) sequences may reduce susceptibility artifacts and image distortion in sellar region, allowing better visualization of small pituitary lesions, and may be used to assist in the diagnosis of pituitary microadenomas. Purpose To explore the application value of conventional MRI combined with DWI sequences in the diagnosis of microprolactinomas.
Analysing SPC’s updated anti-monopoly dispute provisions
Responding to hot topical issues in anti-monopoly litigation, the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) issued its latest Provisions on Several Issues Concerning the Application of Law in the Trial of Monopolistic Civil Dispute Cases (Draft for Public Comment) last November, updating the original 2012 provisions, which were last revised in 2020. The provisions 2022 (draft) has 52 articles in total, more than three times the articles of provisions 2012.
Site-selective exposure of iron nanoparticles to achieve rapid interface enrichment for heavy metals
Site-selective exposure of iron nanoparticles to achieve rapid interface enrichment for heavy metals The adsorption effect of nanoscale zero-valent iron particles (nZVI) in spatially confined nanostructure with controllable active sites is challenging but of significance in the environmental remediation. Here, a various of Fe@PMO nanostructures with well-designed site-exposure of iron are fabricated for investigation the recovery behaviour of metals.
Silicon: toward eco-friendly reduction techniques for lithium-ion battery applications
Silicon: toward eco-friendly reduction techniques for lithium-ion battery applications Silicon-based anode materials have been intensively studied over the past decades owing to its exceptionally high specific capacity. However, Silicon (Si) mainly exists as Si (IV) in the form of silica (SiO2) or silicates in nature.
Fluorescence Signal Amplification of Gold Nanoclusters with Silver Ions
The sensing of metal ions (such as Cu2+, Pb2+, Ag+, Fe3+ and Hg2+ etc) with noble metal nanoclusters have been successfully achieved in recent years, and showed advantages in optical stability, hypotoxicity and biocompatibility. Nevertheless, the weak emission intensity and the limited detection scope are the main drawbacks that restrict the practical applications of the nanoclusters.
