Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is widely recognized as a toxic gas and air pollutant, demanding efficient removal for both human health and pollution control [1], [2]. Currently, the multistep Claus process is the most prevalent technique for desulfurization. However, restricted by thermodynamic constraints, approximately 3–5 % H2S remains unconverted in such process [3].
