What was your first job as a journalist?

Freelance feature contributor.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

If it is the old type traditional, no. Or otherwise, I have command on the keyboard.

How is social media changing news?

It is a challenge, the organizations or now focusing on social media. Journalists, including me, take the initial idea of news from SM.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

There are hundreds of journalists whose work I love and follow. To talk about specific would be unjust to the others.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It is a mania. I can't do without journalism now. I have done this degree with my conscious mind and struggles.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I could work on the story asked by the editors and prefer to send it myself also.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Different things. I am on the web. Use a laptop, adobe audition, adobe premiere pro and many others.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter and Linkedin, I love the most.

The Editors, Journalists and Media Persons.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love the work. It was preplanned. When I was in my earlier days of college, would present to be a reporter.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I have been born into a place where there was no concept and opportunity for writing for school newspapers.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I love to cover short digital stories that are based on storytelling. Moreover, I have a long-form of journalism in mind and see my future.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Learn, read, understand and then report.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I am open. I reply anytime.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

I have hundreds, the matter is of the place to be sent to.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

I sent several pitches and get no reply from the editors that makes me bother.

What's your favorite drink?

Strong Tea

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Read books or available on a cellphone.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

In national, Dawn. Internally there are many, BBC, DW, Arab News, NYT, Nation, Guardian and many more.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

Freelance journalists have nothing serious to do.
