Additive manufacturing of ultralong and architected single crystals
Abstract Single-crystal materials are indispensable for high-performance applications, yet their deployment remains constrained by conventional manufacturing techniques that depend on strict quasi-steady thermal conditions1. This requirement fundamentally conflicts with the intense cyclic thermal fluctuations inherent to additive manufacturing2, historically preventing the 3D printing of large or architected single crystals.
KCNJ15 inhibits epithelial‑mesenchymal transition in colorectal cancer cell lines involving the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway
Abstract KCNJ15 encodes the inwardly rectifying potassium channel Kir4.2, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and is implicated in tumor initiation and progression. In this study, we explored the expression profile, biological functions and molecular mechanisms of KCNJ15 in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that KCNJ15 was downregulated in CRC tissues, and its low expression was correlated with poor patient prognosis.
Propionyl-CoA catabolism is a metabolic gatekeeper for fatty acid oxidation in pancreatic cancer
Abstract Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells rely on fatty acid oxidation (FAO) for proliferation; however, the regulatory mechanisms governing this dependency and their clinical implications remain unclear. Here, we report that PDAC patients exhibit decreased plasma levels of propionyl-CoA intermediates, alongside accelerated propionyl-CoA catabolic activity within both human PDAC tumors and Pdx1-Cre/KrasG12D/+/Trp53R172H/+ (KPC) mouse tumors.
Cage-assembled antigenic particle vaccine (CAP-V) orchestrates coordinated antigen-responsive immunity and protection against alveolar Echinococcosis
Abstract Alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is a life-threatening zoonotic disease caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus multilocularis (E. multilocularis). It is characterized by the tumor-like invasive growth pattern and limited treatment options. Although immunoprophylaxis represents a promising strategy, it is difficult to achieve sufficient immune activation without disrupting Th1/Th2 immune homeostasis.
From Ecological Culture to Green Innovation: The Role of Ethnic Minority Corporate Leaders in China
1 Introduction With growing environmental challenges, green innovation1 has emerged as a strategic response by firms to environmental pressures, regulatory requirements, and evolving stakeholder expectations (Zhang and Zhu 2019). Prior research shows that green innovation yields meaningful economic and societal benefits (Chang 2011; Xie et al. 2019).
LY6D promotes hepatic steatosis via the GRB2–AMPK–SREBP1 signaling axis
Abstract Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most prevalent chronic liver disease globally and can progress to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, a more severe and fibrotic form. Although the recent FDA approval of Resmetirom and Semaglutide, represents a major therapeutic milestone, its efficacy is limited to a subset of patients. Thus, identifying additional molecular targets is essential.
Inference of upstream-mutation and metabolomic-signature causality identifies prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets in pancreatic cancer
Abstract Genomic mutations in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) are hypothesized to drive poor prognosis and low response rates to targeted therapy through crosstalk among downstream regulatory networks. Here, we apply a causal inference-based approach, Mutation-Upstream-of-Metabolomic-Signature (MUMS), to show that prognostic serum metabolomic signatures can capture such crosstalk and reflect the collective impact of mutation-driven networks on tumor progression.

Oligomeric-solvent engineering of hierarchical hydrogen-bonding networks for multifunctional glass interlayers - Nature Communications
Abstract The properties of polymer gels are governed not only by the crosslinked network but also by the solvent. Conventional small-molecule solvents impose trade-offs among environmental adaptability, cost, and biocompatibility. Here, we employ oligomeric polyethylene glycol as a multifunctional solvent for poly (methacrylic acid) (PMAA), converting the otherwise plastic PMAA network into a transparent, dissipative gel.
Encoding Cumulation to Learn Perturbative Nonlinear Oscillatory Dynamics
1 Introduction Oscillatory behavior, characterized by rhythmic fluctuations around equilibrium, is a hallmark of complex engineered systems. While idealized harmonic oscillators offer foundational insight, subtle deviations introduced by weak nonlinearities are increasingly recognized as critical to system functionality and stability.

The integral membrane protein smim4 modulates redox balance via malate compartmentalization in pancreatic cancer - Nature Communications
Abstract Reshaping metabolic compartmentalization is frequently observed in cancer cells, however, the underlying mechanisms and physiological implications are less known. Here, we show that pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients with low integral membrane protein SMIM4 expression exhibits a poor prognosis and reduces oxidative stress in tumors, which can be confirmed in cultured human PDAC cells and mice Pdx1-Cre/KrasG12D/+/Trp53R172H/+ (KPC) cells.
Understanding Output-Based Pricing Systems
Abstract In recent years, Canada has implemented a distinctive carbon pricing regime, known as “output-based pricing systems” (OBPS), to incentivize emission reductions for large industrial facilities. This regime has come under heightened scrutiny as a more general carbon tax, the federal fuel charge, was cancelled in 2025 due to political controversy.

The authors address this question with both empirical clarity and theoretical discipline.
A Dapl1+ subpopulation of naïve CD8 T cells is enriched for memory-lineage precursors
Abstract Memory CD8 T cells provide long-lasting immunity, but their developmental origins remain incompletely defined. Growing evidence suggests that functional heterogeneity exists within the naïve T cell pool, shaping lineage potential before antigen stimulation. Here, we identify a subpopulation of naïve CD8 T cells expressing death-associated protein-like 1 (Dapl1) that contains preprogrammed precursors biased toward memory differentiation.
