Practice and application of blended teaching based on RG-UClass in a preventive medicine course
Abstract Background: In the post-pandemic era, online teaching has become a cornerstone of higher education, especially for delivering structured medical knowledge. This study assessed the effectiveness of a blended teaching approach using the RG-UClass (Ruijie-UClass) smart platform in preventive medicine courses, aiming to provide empirical evidence of its impact and potential to improve learning outcomes. Methods: This quasi-experimental study enrolled 107 Grade 2019 clinical medicine students.
Family functioning types and self-injury risk among left-behind secondary school students: a latent profile analysis with shame as a mediator
Abstract Objective: To identify latent profiles of family functioning among left-behind secondary school students and to examine their associations with non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), as well as the mediating role of shame. Methods: A cross-sectional survey using cluster sampling was conducted in 2024 among 2,385 secondary school students from two rural schools in Huaihua City, Hunan Province.
Ameliorative effects of mulberry fruit anthocyanin extract on gut microbiota and liver metabolites in high-fat and high-cholesterol diet-fed ApoE−/− mice
Abstract Aim: This study aims to investigate the effects of mulberry anthocyanin (MA) in high-fat and high-cholesterol (HFHC) diet-fed ApoE−/− mice. Methods: ApoE−/− mice were randomly divided into control (ACON), mulberry fruit anthocyanin extract (MFAE), cyanidin-3-glucoside (C3G) group 1 (C3GT), and C3G group 2 (C3GP). After 7 weeks of HFHC diet feeding and following 2–3 weeks of treatment, samples were collected and analyzed.
Effects of negative pressure wound therapy on wound infection and healing in patients with open fracture wounds: A meta‐analysis
1 INTRODUCTION Open fractures are one of the common diseases in trauma orthopaedics.

Regulatory mechanisms of lipopolysaccharide synthesis in Escherichia coli - Nature Communications
Abstract Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is an essential glycolipid and forms a protective permeability barrier for most Gram-negative bacteria. In E. coli, LPS levels are under feedback control, achieved by FtsH-mediated degradation of LpxC, which catalyzes the first committed step in LPS synthesis. FtsH is a membrane-bound AAA+ protease, and its protease activity toward LpxC is regulated by essential membrane proteins LapB and YejM. However, the regulatory mechanisms are elusive.
Structural basis of ER-associated protein degradation mediated by the Hrd1 ubiquitin ligase complex
A close-up view of the retrotranslocon Misfolded endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteins are retrotranslocated into the cytosol, polyubiquitinated, and degraded by the proteasome in a process known as ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD). ERAD of misfolded luminal ER proteins (ERAD-L) is mediated by the Hrd1 complex, composed of the ubiquitin ligase Hrd1 and four additional proteins (Hrd3, Der1, Usa1, and Yos9). Wu et al.
DNA melting initiates the RAG catalytic pathway
a,b, Cryo-EM maps of RAG singly bound to unmelted (a) and melted (b) 12-RSS at 4.2 and 4.7 Å resolution. One RAG1 is omitted in order to present the bound 12-RSS DNAs (red) inside the protein. The black circle in (b) indicates the melted region in the RSS. c, Cryo-EM map of C2-symmetrized RAG doubly bound to nicked RSSs at 3.0 Å resolution. One RAG1 is omitted in order to present the bound nicked-RSS DNAs (red and orange) inside the protein.
Polystyrene-Impregnated Paper Substrate for Direct Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Proteins and Peptides in Complex Matrices
Direct analysis of proteins and peptides in complex matrices is of significant importance for biological, medicinal and toxicological studies. Paper spray mass spectrometry is a promising method for rapid determination of target compounds in various samples, but such a protocol is greatly limited by the hydrogen-bond and van der Waals interactions between paper substrate and proteins and peptides.
Unraveling the sequence of cytosolic reactions in the export of GspB adhesin from Streptococcus gordonii
Many pathogenic bacteria, including Streptococcus gordonii, possess a pathway for the cellular export of a single serine-rich-repeat protein that mediates the adhesion of bacteria to host cells and the extracellular matrix. This adhesin protein is O-glycosylated by several cytosolic glycosyltransferases and requires three accessory Sec proteins (Asp1–3) for export, but how the adhesin protein is processed for export is not well understood. Here, we report that the S.
