Phosphoproteomic analysis in a mouse model reveals ERK signaling as a key modulator of inflammatory response in nasal mucosa associated with childhood allergic rhinitis
Abstract Childhood allergic rhinitis (AR) is a multifactorial condition arising from the interplay between genetic predisposition and environmental exposures. Although protein phosphorylation is widely recognized as a key regulator of gene expression across various physiological and pathological states, its global alterations in the nasal mucosa of pediatric patients with AR and their subsequent impact on mucosal function and inflammatory pathways remain incompletely characterized.
Clinical characteristics and associated factors of airway allergic diseases among children: a cross-sectional study in a district of Beijing
Abstract Introduction: This study aims to investigate the impact of genetic factors, dietary habits, and social behavior patterns on allergic airway diseases among children in Beijing, providing evidence for disease prevention and early intervention. Methods: A random cluster sampling method was employed to survey 2,132 children aged 6–12 years in a district of Beijing. Participants were categorized into disease and control groups according to ARIA and GINA guidelines.
Gemfibrozil Prevents Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Mice Through AMPK Activation
1 Introduction Over the past several decades, cardiovascular disease has remained a leading cause of global morbidity [1]. Therapeutic advances have led to a substantial decline in mortality from coronary artery disease, with worldwide rates decreasing by 27% from 2000 to 2019 [1]. Revascularization, now a cornerstone in the management of myocardial infarction (MI), has significantly improved patient outcomes [2]. However, MI remains one of the most serious acute cardiovascular syndromes.

II.1. Study Population The data used in this study were obtained from the UKB, comprising participants aged 40–69 years at the time of recruitment in 2006–2010 (Lin et al., 2021). Over 500,000 UK residents were recruited through 22 assessment centers (Sudlow et al., 2015). Following dietary assessments, the UKB initiated a multi-modal imaging sub-study (Miller et al., 2016), with nearly 50,000 participants assessed by the end of 2019.
Multifunctional Multi‐Scale 3D Hilbert Metamaterial With Integrated Mechanical‐Sensing Capabilities
Mechanical-Sensing Multifunctional Integrated System (MSMIS) that combines comfort and protection is essential for intelligent wearables. However, thickness constraints significantly limit the development of multifunctional metamaterials. While 2D metamembrane sensors provide sensitivity and conformability, they compromise energy absorption and multistage deformation in the vertical dimension. Here, we present a multifunctional sandwich architecture using mechanical metamaterials as facing layers.

Dynapenic abdominal obesity is associated with long-term cognitive trajectories and mild cognitive impairment - International Journal of Obesity
Abstract Dynapenic abdominal obesity (D/AO) is defined as the combination of decreased handgrip strength and high waist circumference. It is necessary to explore its combined effect on long-term changes in cognitive function to identify those who could benefit most from neurocognitive preventive strategies. Longitudinal data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2015–2020) was used, including 6698 individuals aged 45 years and over.

Genome-wide analysis in northern Chinese twins identifies twelve new susceptibility loci for pulmonary function - BMC Genomics
Materials and methods The twin samples were derived from Qingdao Twin Registry [24], and details of the sample recruitment procedure have been described in previous literatures [25]. Participants were excluded if they were pregnant, lactating, or had incomplete measurement of pulmonary function; the incomplete co-twin pairs were also dropped.

Dietary factors and risk for adverse pregnancy outcome: A Mendelian randomization analysis
1 BACKGROUND Adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) include preterm birth (PB), spontaneous abortion (SA), preeclampsia (PE), gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and fetal growth restriction (FGR). Globally, 11% of deliveries result in preterm births (<37 weeks of gestation) (Blencowe et al., 2012), 15.3% of recognized pregnancies end in SA (Quenby et al., 2021), 5%–8% of pregnancies are at risk of developing PE (>20 weeks of gestation) (“ACOG practice bulletin.

Digital Immunoassay for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in a Broad Spectrum of Animals
Abstract The ability of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) to infect a wide-range of species raises significant concerns regarding both human-to-animal and animal-to-human transmission. There is an increasing demand for highly sensitive, rapid, and simple diagnostic assays that can detect viral infection across various species.
An epigenome-wide association study of waist circumference in Chinese monozygotic twins - International Journal of Obesity
Abstract Central obesity poses significant health risks because it increases susceptibility to multiple chronic diseases. Epigenetic features such as DNA methylation may be associated with specific obesity traits, which could help us understand how genetic and environmental factors interact to influence the development of obesity.

Design and Experimental Study of Single Plant Harvester for Potato Breeding Experiments
1. Introduction As one of the world’s important crops, the potato is widely grown in many countries around the globe [1,2]. However, the potato breeding cycle is long and requires a large population of generations [3]. Potato breeding experiments are divided into asexual first-generation, second-generation, and third-generation selection, preliminary line comparison, and line comparison experiments [4]. The harvesting requirements of potato breeding trials are different from those of the field [5].

Integrated genetic and epigenetic analyses uncovered GLP1R association with metabolically healthy obesity - International Journal of Obesity
Abstract Both genetic and epigenetic variations of GLP1R influence the development and progression of obesity. However, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. This study aims to explore the mediation roles of obesity-related methylation sites in GLP1R gene variants-obesity association. A total of 300 Chinese adult participants were included in this study and classified into two groups: 180 metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) cases and 120 metabolically healthy normal-weight (MHNW) controls.

Measurement and Correlation of Curcumin Solubility in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide
Curcumin is a natural phenolic pigment extracted from turmeric and has a good pharmacological activity in anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, hypolipidemic, and antitumor. It has been frequently used in drug-loaded microspheres recently. However, the reports on its solubility in supercritical fluids have not been seen yet. In the present study, solubility of curcumin in the supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO ) was determined using the dynamic equilibrium method.
