What was your first job as a journalist?
I announced the starting lineups at my high school's baseball games and called some football games on our school's radio feed. A thrill.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
The entire newsroom from "Broadcast News" and/or Charles Foster Kane from "Citizen Kane". (The latter might be a sociopath.)
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To tell stories, and to give a window into worlds readers, listeners, and watchers may not otherwise know to explore. This work is vital.
Who do you wish followed you?
Shea Serrano. We could just watch The Fast and the Furious together and talk about the NBA. It's both of our dreams rolled into one.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, but at Marist College, I edited and wrote for our sports website, Center Field, for 3 years. I also wrote film criticism for the paper.

I'm always open, and always appreciate any sort of pitch! Hit me with your best shot. There's nothing I'm not interested in exploring.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Behind a book, grabbing a coffee, visiting with family and friends, or on a bike ride. If I'm not in one of those places, call 9-1-1.
