What was your first job as a journalist?
Me and a neighbor kid put together a weekly neighborhood "newspaper" we had to handprint copies & distribute throughout our apartment bldg.
How is social media changing news?
Making it a 24/7 proposition; combining positive possibilities with negative ramifications.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. My "career" began as a member of the Reconstruction collective; the first modern day (the late 60s) alternative newspaper in Kansas.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
By exposing Jerry Falwell's horrific remarks after 9/11 blaming liberals for the attacks, he was forced to apologize.
What's your favorite drink?

An important publication is BuzzFlash (not BuzzFeed, because it daily aggregates important stories.
