Bill Berkowitz has been tracking and monitoring conservative political and social movements in the United States for the past twenty-five-plus years. What was your first job as a journalist?

Me and a neighbor kid put together a weekly neighborhood "newspaper" we had to handprint copies & distribute throughout our apartment bldg.

How is social media changing news?

Making it a 24/7 proposition; combining positive possibilities with negative ramifications.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No. My "career" began as a member of the Reconstruction collective; the first modern day (the late 60s) alternative newspaper in Kansas.
