When Intelligence Fails: A Legal Targeting Analysis of the Minab School Strike
Introduction On the morning of Feb. 28, 2026, as the first wave of U.S.-Israeli airstrikes swept across southern Iran, a Tomahawk cruise missile struck the Shajarah Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province. Three missiles struck the compound in rapid succession. At the time of impact, between 170 and 264 students were present — most of them girls between the ages of 7 and 12. Beware the AI Preemption Trap
On March 20, the White House released its long-awaited National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence for Congress. The administration argues that 100,000 American deaths per year from cocaine and fentanyl overdose constitutes an existential terrorist threat, and this makes a boat allegedly smuggling illicit drugs a legitimate target for deadly military force.
Trump and Hegseth want to turn the military into a tool of personal loyalty Original
As former military judge advocates, we worked at the intersection of lethality, lawfulness and obedience — three pillars that support any effective military force. Over the last six months, a campaign to dismantle these pillars has begun. Its apparent objective is to subordinate our national defense to the personal, political and social agendas of a commander-in-chief who prizes personal loyalty above the military’s commitment to our nation and Constitution.
