The county’s annual water quality reports are now available to the public. The report, mandated by the US Environmental Protection Agency, tested the water quality in 2025. Hillsborough County manages 11 water systems, creating 11 different reports spanning 750 thousand customers.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier // Chris Young, WMNF News, 4/17/2026 Listen: Florida is cracking down on  7-OH, a concentrated byproduct of kratom, and its derivatives. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier signed an emergency rule Monday in Tampa to control the substances. Last year, the attorney general filed an emergency rule to classify isolated and/or concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine, or 7-OH, as a Schedule I controlled substance in Florida.
