Abstract The mucosal system, which includes the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital tracts, serves as a primary entry point for pathogens, with a unique immune microenvironment and specialized defense mechanisms. In recent years, especially following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been increasing recognition of the importance of mucosal immunity, motivated by an enhanced comprehension of its fundamental mechanisms.

Introduction Heart failure (HF) is a condition of impaired heart function, defined by the inability of the heart to pump an adequate volume of blood to meet the body's metabolic demands. HF is not a single pathological diagnosis but a clinical syndrome consisting of cardinal symptoms (e.g. breathlessness, ankle swelling, and fatigue) that may be accompanied by signs (e.g. elevated jugular venous pressure, pulmonary crackles, and peripheral oedema).1 The causes of HF are numerous and diverse.

Abstract Objectives The final stage of liver development is the production of hepatocytes and cholangiocytes (biliary epithelial cells) from bipotent hepatic progenitor cells. We used HepaRG cells, which are bipotent and able to differentiate into both hepatocytes and cholangiocytes, as a model to study the action of a novel lncRNA (lnc‐RHL) and its role in the regulation of bipotency leading to hepatocytes and cholangiocytes.
