Tumor progression is effectively suppressed by miR-195 through direct targeting of YAP1
Abstract Background: Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) dysregulation is frequently observed in various human cancers. This study aimed to identify microRNAs (miRNAs) capable of suppressing YAP1 expression and to elucidate their functional roles in tumor progression. Methods: We screened five candidate miRNAs using a luciferase reporter assay containing the YAP1 3’ untranslated region (3’ UTR).

Viral proteins resolve the virus-vector conundrum during hemipteran-mediated transmission by subverting salicylic acid signaling pathway - Nature Communications
Abstract Hemipteran insects transmit viruses when infesting plants, during which vectors activate salicylic acid (SA)-regulated antiviral defenses. How vector-borne plant viruses circumvent these antiviral defenses is largely unexplored. During co-infections of begomoviruses and betasatellites in plants, betasatellite-encoded βC1 proteins interfere with SA signaling and reduce the activation of antiviral resistance.

Bipolar Molecular Torque Wrench Modulates the Stacking of Two-Dimensional Metal-Organic Framework Nanosheets Original
The precise modulation of nanosheet stacking modes introduces unforeseen properties and creates momentous applications but remains a challenge. Herein, we proposed a strategy using bipolar molecules as torque wrenches to control the stacking modes of 2-D Zr-1,3,5-(4-carboxylphenyl)-benzene metal–organic framework (2-D Zr-BTB MOF) nanosheets.
Experimental Boson Sampling Enabling Cryptographic One-Way Function
Boson sampling is a computational problem, which is commonly believed to be a representative paradigm for attaining the milestone of quantum advantage. So far, massive efforts have been made to the experimental large-scale boson sampling for demonstrating this milestone, while further applications of the machines remain a largely unexplored area.
Manipulation of Whitefly Behavior by Plant Viruses
1. Introduction Plant viruses cause devastating diseases in a wide range of crops worldwide, resulting in tremendous economic losses annually [,]. The majority of plant viruses are transmitted by hemipteran insects such as whiteflies, aphids and planthoppers [,], and thus insect vectors play a pivotal role in the transmission and spread of these plant viruses [,,,].

News Home / Insights / Supporting Those Who Put Food On Our Tables: Project Ayuda Brings COVID Relief to Essential Workers in California’s Central Valley The COVID-19 crisis has laid bare many of America’s greatest inequities, from its disproportionate impact on communities of color, to the vulnerabilities of our fragile health care system.
Connection in a Time of Isolation
Perspectives Home / Insights / Connection in a Time of Isolation In today’s new normal, when COVID-19 has entire communities sheltering in place, many parents are home with their kids, childcare centers are closed, and grandparent caregivers are quarantined. With so many essential workers heading off to their jobs, family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) caregivers themselves are often becoming essential workers too, as more parents are now relying on them to provide care to their young children.

Genome-Wide Host-Pathogen Interaction Unveiled by Transcriptomic Response of Diamondback Moth to Fungal Infection
Genome-wide insight into insect pest response to the infection of Beauveria bassiana (fungal insect pathogen) is critical for genetic improvement of fungal insecticides but has been poorly explored. We constructed three pairs of transcriptomes of Plutella xylostella larvae at 24, 36 and 48 hours post treatment of infection (hpt I ) and of control (hpt C ) for insight into the host-pathogen interaction at genomic level.
